Currently reading, watching & listening to
I like to read at least 2 books at the same time – one fiction, one nonfiction.
Fiction: This year, I’m reading science fiction. Currently reading Dune, part 1.
Nonfiction: I had to hit pause on 100 Things Every Designer Needs to Know About People by Susan Weinschenk – I’ve been dipping into this book since August last year but find myself increasingly bored by this kind of behavioural economics book. So, after reading the German book Bekenntnisse by Michael Rasche – the memoirs of a former Catholic priest, who also happens to be a friend – I’m now reading A Chosen Faith by John A. Buehrens and Forest Church. Ironically, this book explains the creed of a creed-less faith: Unitarian Universalism. (Even calling it an -ism feels off, but here we go.) I find these books a great match. It’s as if they were in conversation with each other.
TV: In keeping with my science fiction theme, I’m (re)watching as much of the Star Wars saga as I can, in chronological order. Currently knee deep in the Clone Wars animated series.
Music: Rosalía, SOHN, Lazerhawk, Lamb. Going to see Kae Tempest soon. Unfortunately not enjoying the new Muse album – not enough structure, too much chaos and droning timbre for my liking.
